PSP 7 - Getting Started

Lesson 4

Using Additional Tools in PSP 7

bar

If you are using a screen resolution of 800 x 600, you may need to use the scroll bar at the bottom of your screen and scroll all the way to the right to see all the text and graphics.

This page is very graphics intensive. Please give it time to load!

The Selection Tool   selection tool

The first exercises were in using the selection tool and various shapes.

Here is my logo. I made the background transparent, which left the drop shadow on white. Not a very good way to do this. Is it possible to make something with a drop shadow transparent?

And here is my plaque, made combining shapes into one graphic.

The Freehand Tool   freehand tool

the Retouch Tool   retouch tool

Using the freehand selection with the freehand tool, we selected the pumpkins and redid the picture. This one took me back to Halloween! And just when I was getting in the Christmas spirit!! LOL But I was glad of another chance to use my cute little witch! We also used the retouch tool to push color to even out the edges of the pumpkins where our selections were not perfect.

The freehand tool (point to point selection) was also used to select the areas in the windows and change the scenery. I like the new view! And I'm a nut about framing pictures, as you can see! ROTFL

We also selected the swan using the smart edge selection and changed her background. Pretty!

The last activity was to make arrow "next" and "back" buttons. Click on mine to go back to Lesson 3 or on to Lesson 5 By the way, I decided to use a color and a texture on the buttons that would match my page instead of the wood texture.
