Part 1 - Layers Tutorial

This week's lesson covered additional information on layers. I've used them quite a bit but enjoyed learning several new things.

First is the flower picture. (Linda, are the flowers part of the copyright of your lesson? If not, I'd like to make them into tubes so I can use them again.)

Following are some graphics I have done for other classes using layers. I added to some and changed some since they had been saved in psp format.

The picture in the snow globe is one I scanned from a calendar. The base was made using Blade Pro. The snow and globe are tubes. Then I animated it.

The lantern used multiple layers, and every part of the lantern was made using psp features. Then I animated it in Animation Shop.

This one used a pear to start, then PSP shapes. Then I framed it.

The leaves, the flowers, and the globe are PSP tubes. The design on the candles is a graphic I did using a font and my name, mirroring it and turning it 90 degrees. Then I animated it in Animation Shop.

This one was made with six different layers, using psp tubes, an Easter graphic of the bunny, and text.

Also, the heading above was made using the flowers from the tutorial. It had six layers before I merged them, four for the flowers, one for the text, and one for the background. So I got lots of layer practice. I have used layers so much I feel very comfortable with them now, though I know there is still lots to learn about them. I was especially glad to learn why graphics on inactive layers suddenly become active using the mover tool! I had been very frustrated with that, thinking perhaps it was a bug in 7.0 that would be corrected, but see now what a nice feature it is!
